Assignment 4: Recombinant gene product

1. Choose a protein that is generated from recombinant DNA. It can be any recombinant protein--a commercial product, pharmaceutical or diagnostic agent, vaccine, laboratory tool or a recombinant protein that was generated during the course of a research project.
2. Describe what the protein is used for, and why it is well suited for that particular use
3. Describe the recombinant DNA construct that is used to express the protein
4. Describe the cells that are used to express the protein
5. Outline the scheme that is used to purify the recombinant protein
6. Have your results ready to present in class beginning Mon 22 September
